Walter Ötsch

Studied economics at the University of Business and Management (Vienna) and a the Johannes Kepler University of Linz. 1976 - 1981: Assistant professor at the University of Klagenfurt (institute for the economics and sociology of education). He received his doctor degree (1981) and his habilitation (1993) at the University of Linz. Was lecturing at the Universities of Klagenfurt and Witten-Herdecke (Germany). Since 1995 a.Univ.Prof. at the University of Linz. 2002/03: Visiting Professor at the University of Arts Linz. 2004: Chair of the Center for Social and Inter-Cultural Competency at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz. Memberships: "Verein für Socialpolitik" (German Economic Association), "Ausschuß für Evolutorische Ökonomik" (International Economics Research Committe) of "Verein für Socialpolitik", and "Österreichische Nationalökonomische Gesellschaft" (Austrian Economic Association).
