Ilya Prokopoff

Ilya Prokopoff co-founded a practice at IDEO called Transformation that helps clients use the tools and methods of design to work in new ways, to address the challenges of the future, and to effect change in their organizations. Ilya has been involved in a wide range of transformation programs in a number of industries to establish sustainable innovation practices within the client's organization. Before starting Transformation, Ilya co-led IDEO San Francisco, a 40 person office, and started at IDEO as an early member of the Environments practice. In these capacities, Ilya worked on systemic projects including: a new service strategy for Amtrak; experimental work environments for Kodak; co-management of a strategic product innovation relationship with Pepsi-Cola; new sales environments and new service strategies for Steelcase; and a living prototype environment for the development of new teaching methods, technologies, and spaces at Stanford University. Ilya received a degree in Product Design from the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he later taught a range of design courses including Environment Design.
