Doris Rothauer

Doris Rothauer studied economics and art management in Vienna. Since 1986 she works as an art curator, art manager and consultant focussing on the intersection between art & economy. In 2006 she founded her own company, “Büro für Transfer”, a consulting agency, that supports art institutions, creative entrepreneurs and companies with an expertise in strategy development, communication and project development & management. Before that, institutions she has been working at include the Museum of Modern Art, the Vienna Festival, the Secession, steirischer herbst. 1997-2002 she was director of the Künstlerhaus Vienna, focusing on exhibiting the diverse creative industries. She is regularly lecturing at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and is publishing frequently for magazines and newspapers. She is the author of “Creativity & Capital. Art and Economy in Radical Change”, Vienna 2005. Doris Rothauer is a member of the Experts Pool of departure, the City of Vienna’s agency for the creative industries, as well as member of the Board of Management of the Technische Museum Vienna.
